Julie Burns

Julie Burns, Manager, Operations, Quality and Central Intake, brings more than 27 years’ clinical experience and leadership to the NSM SGS program.

Prior to joining North Simcoe Muskoka Specialized Geriatric Services, Julie held positions with Royal Victoria Hospital, Georgian Bay General Hospital and other health care organizations. For the past ten years, Julie has served as Manager, Specialized Seniors Care Inpatient Unit at Royal Victoria Hospital. She holds certifications in LEAN Methodology and Infection Control. From 2009 to 2011 Julie served as the Inpatient Process Improvement Provincial Team Lead for Georgian Bay General Hospital.

Julie believes strongly in the NSM SGS commitment to advancing care for older adults through leadership, clinical excellence, education and research.

Julie is a Registered Nurse with a BScN from Athabasca University and has completed her Leadership in Healthcare through Rotman School of Management. Julie is also certified as a Change Management Registered Practitioner.
